"Girls shouldn't be hit,
not even with a flower"
Do you know that...?
Today we celebrate...
the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
According to the United Nations ...
Prevention is the 2015 theme of the International Day
for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November.
Why this International Day?
- Violence against women is a human rights violation
- Violence against women is a consequence of discrimination against women, in law and also in practice, and of persisting inequalities between men and women
- Violence against women impacts on, and impedes, progress in many areas, including poverty eradication, combating HIV/AIDS, and peace and security
- Violence against women and girls is not inevitable. Prevention is possible and essential
- Violence against women continues to be a global pandemic.

On this special occasion,
we have selected a different video
to make people aware about this problem in our society.
Before watching the video, can you answer the following questions?
1- What's your name?
2.- How old are you?
3.- What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
Now, watch the video and discover the message ...
( "Slap her" is a video by Fanpage.it to their YouTube channel, Fanpage Media.)
What's the message?
If you need any help with your English (or with your Italian),
you can watch the following video with Spanish subtitles:
Because...
"In the kids' world
Women don't get hit".
(Alessandro, 6 years old)
I'm against violence...
And you?
TASK.-
This post is the first one without a video with MUSIC.
On this occasion, I would like you select the music for this post.
Write a comment with the title of the song you would select for this
International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

"END VIOLENCE
AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS"
;-)
