OK Go is an American rock band originally from Chicago (USA), now residing in Los Angeles, California, USA. They are perhaps best known for their often elaborated music videos.
They are always curious and eccentric. In short, they are different.

School days are gone and our summer holiday starts now.
We all need a break.
Don't you think so?
;-)
I hope you like a song
a friend of mine used to sing
on the last day of school
before the summer...
"Summer Holiday"
by the British pop singer Cliff Richard
We're all going on a summer holiday
no more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
no more worries for me or you,
for a week or two.
We're going where the sun shines brightly
we're going where the sea is blue.
we've all seen it on the movies,
now let's see if it's true.
Everybody has a summer holiday
doin' things they always wanted to
So we're going on a summer holiday,
to make our dreams come true
for me and you.
for me and you.
We, Spanish people, are very well-known for one thing all over the world:
We like Fiesta
(As you know,
"Fiesta" is the Spanish word for "parties")
In fact,
there are a few Spanish words that everybody knows.
An example...
My first educative experience, as a teacher,
was with a group of adult foreigners, non-native Spanish speakers,
who ONLY knew 4 Spanish words:
????
FIESTA, SIESTA, PAELLA & SANGRÍA.
;-)
(A good reputation, isn't it?)
I think that it is Not completely TRUE.
To be more precise, we could say that it is FALSE because...
We DON'T like Fiesta...
We LOVE FIESTA !!
***
In my opinion
We Like/Love celebrating big events.
And...
Isn't it important to celebrate our language?
Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves that the language we use everyday is a very special thing. For that reason, in 2009, the Instituto Cervantescame up with the idea of "el Día E" - "el día del español" - or "Spanish Day"; a day for celebrating Spanish as an international language.
In the following video you'll hear different forms of Spanish from different countries: Isabel Allende (Chilean writer); Ricardo Darín (Argentinian actor), Mario Vargas Llosa (Peruvian writer), Gael García Bernal (Mexican actor), Juan Luis Guerra (Dominican singer), Chayanne (Puerto Rican singer), Diego Forlan (Uruguayan), ... and many more.
To celebrate the E-Day in this blog,
We have selected the following video
with a selection of the best 25 songs at the moment,
according to my students, published on
one of the most popular sites about Spanish music from YouTube:
El español más allá de nuestras fronteras
... también en la música!!
Diferentes grupos, diferentes estilos, diferentes procedencias...
pero todos en español!
El español,
una lengua que nos une.
It is an annual event to make people aware about positive environmental action.
The Theme for this year 2011 is...
Forests: Nature At Your Service
Forests cover one third of the earth’s land mass, performing vital functions and services around the world which make our planet alive with possibilities. In fact, 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihoods. They play a key role in our battle against climate change, releasing oxygen into the atmosphere while storing carbon dioxide.
You can help to save our planet.
You and me can do something positive to avoid destroying it.
It is not too late to change what we have done to the planet Earth.
... We must Return to our Innocence.
Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence
and underline the lines of the song where it is suggested that humans have another chance/opportunity.
Keeping in mind that idea about the man having another opportunity...
