What a Wonderful World !!

"Even in difficult times
There is a reason to be positive
And hopeful for the near future".
J.C.

Sit down and relax
Open your eyes
Watch the video
and Listen to the song ...

It is a wonderful video by tyhe BBC and a powerful song-
with simple lyrics (but inspiring and encouraging).

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
( George Weiss / Bob Thiele )

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, What a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, saying "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, What a wonderful world

HISTORY OF THE SONG

The previous song, "What a Wonderful World", is a jazz song written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss; and it was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and released as a single in 1968.

Intended as an antidote for the increasingly racially and politically charged climate of everyday life in the United States at that time, the song also has a hopeful, optimistic tone with regard to the future.

The song describes the wonders of simple little things in daily life.

 ORIGINAL MUSIC

Now watch the video of the same song
performed by Louis Armstrong
before I was born...

For many people...,
"What a Wonderful World" is one of the best jazz song of all times.
It is a simple song, with simple lyrics, full of optimism,
that makes you go out to the streets ang hug everybody you meet.
What do you think?

Perhaps you think that...
This world is not a wonderful world,
but both this song and Armstrong are simply...
W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L.

As an example,
Have a look at this Social Experiment
carried out in many countries all over the world...

"FREE HUGS" - in English-
"ABRAZOS GRATIS"- in Spanish- or
"ABBRACCI GRATIS"/"REGALO ABBRACCI"- in Italian.

My Italian Friend Caterina Runfola sent the following video to me
showing the mentioned experiment in Sondrio (Italy):

In my opinion,
The video, like the song "What a Wonderful World"
describes the wonders of simple little things in daily life…

Don't you think so?

"It is amazing how one simple "free" hug
can completely change a person's day".
J.C.
